The $750,000 Joint

Can someone help me understand this logic or maybe lack of logic? I am a professional athlete making $3mil a year. If get caught driving under the influence with a joint in my possession, I oould get suspended, let's say four games. The cost of that joint is now $750,000. A little high to get high! Would not a couple of Buds be a better choice?
